James Kelly, a pitcher on the Shore Regional High School baseball, receives the honor of Sterns Athlete of the Week in The Link News. On May 30, Kelly pitched the game in which the Blue Devils beat New Egypt 3-2 to win the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 1 Sectional Championships.
On the season he has pitched nearly 46 innings with 45 strikeouts, 14 balls and has an ERA of 2.45. At the plate he has had 73 appearances with 22 hits; three doubles, one triple and one homerun. “James is a junior and a very solid and reliable player,” said Patrick O’Neill, head coach. “He is a two year varsity letter winner who started at third base as a sophomore. James is our third pitcher in the rotation and bats fourth.”
