Susan Marco and Larry Mihlon who we all know at Family Addiction Network since its inception, are founding members of LB HEARS, which was created in 2018 as part of then, new, Mayor Pallone’s 100 Day plan. The Mayor and Councilwoman Dr. Anita Voogt, wanting to address the opioid crisis in the city, gathered a group of citizens to help create an organization that could offer awareness and education and advocacy, breaking down stigma to bring more programs and services to the greater Long Branch area. The goal is to help minimize the barriers for people to get the help they need.
Post pandemic, HEARS is continuing to evolve! It is truly a community organization that is always looking to expand its outreach and volunteer membership! Join us to learn more about this unique and dynamic organization!
