New Outpatient Center to be named The Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center with Demonstration Kitchen Programming to be named by Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi

Long Branch, NJ, February 15, 2022 — Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) recently received a $10 million naming gift from local philanthropist and former Chief Financial Officer for Atlantic Records, Sheldon Vogel, in memory of his beloved late wife, Anne. With this gift, Monmouth Medical Center will name its new outpatient facility under construction in Eatontown, The Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center.

The Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center, which stands next to Boscov’s at the Monmouth Mall, is in the final stages of construction and is set to open in March. The expansive facility is a critical component in Monmouth Medical Center’s bold outpatient expansion plan aimed at increasing access to critical health services and providing outstanding programs and services where the communities need it most.

“We are so grateful to Sheldon for his continued generosity, and we are honored to pioneer the future of health care in our region in Anne Vogel’s name,” says MMC President and CEO Eric Carney, who also holds that title with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) in Lakewood.

This impactful gift comes on the heels of the Vogels’ record-breaking $50 million donation given to the hospital in 2020 to establish the Vogel Medical Campus in Tinton Falls, which is under development three miles away from the Anne Vogel Family Care & Wellness Center.

“Healthcare innovation is crucial to our community and requires investment,” said Mr. Vogel. “Anne would be so proud that this special gift in her name will ensure that Monmouth Medical Center can continue to meet the evolving health care needs of our community for generations to come.”

To support all members of the community in a healthy eating journey, The Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center will include a demonstration kitchen headed up by a full- time dietitian. This modern space will feature innovative programming named for Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi, according to Caitlin Olson, Regional Vice President of Development for MMC and MMCS.

“We know from working with JBJ Soul Kitchen that they are very focused on addressing food insecurity, nutrition education, mental health and homelessness, and we are so grateful to them for their partnership as this aligns directly with our values and our mission to improve the health of our communities,” she says.

JBJ Soul Kitchen is a non-profit Community Restaurant in Red Bank and Toms River that is run by the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.

“We are honored to partner with RWJBarnabas Health in the newly created Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center in Eatontown,” say Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi. “After more than a decade of serving the community at our JBJ Soul Kitchen restaurants, we know firsthand the importance of nutritious meals. We look forward to creating programs that can teach people cooking skills and healthy eating habits.”

“The new center is truly providing extraordinary care close to home and perfectly honors Anne’s caring and giving nature,” says Bill Arnold, President, RWJBarnabas Health Southern Region and President and CEO, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. “We can’t thank Sheldon enough for helping RWJBarnabas Health advance its mission of ensuring our communities have the means and ability to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. We are also so grateful to Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi for helping us pair world class healthcare with healthy eating through the exciting Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi programs.”

In addition to the demonstration kitchen, the four-story, 82,000 square-foot Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center will also include:
