Sandwiched between the two yellow solid lines, there is a pink stripe going down the middle of Beach Road. There is a good reason for the pastel stripe. I got an email this week from Monmouth Beach Mayor Susan Howard and I am sure many of you in town got the same message — join ‘Paint the Town Pink’ effort. For me, this issue is personal; I lost both my sisters to the dreaded disease of breast cancer. Additionally, my oldest daughter is a breast cancer survivor.

This is the second year of ‘Paint the Town Pink,’ a program run by Riverview Medical Center in support of annual mammography exams and raising breast cancer awareness. It’s all part of the program of prevention, detection, and treatment. Here’s what you have to do ‘Pink’ your house.
