SUV flips twice in Long Branch accident

December 23, 2013West Long Branch — Police are investigating an armed robbery which took place last weekend.
According to the West Long Branch Police Department, on Saturday, December 14, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a hold up alarm at Lucky’s Laundry in the Paddock Plaza, at the intersection of State Highway 36 and Monmouth Road.
While en route to the call, officers were advised that a robbery had indeed occurred.
The suspect was described as a tall, clean shaven black male, with a muscular build, approximately 35 years of age. He wore a black jacket and shirt over patterned pants, in addition to a black ski mask.
The suspect produced a silver handgun which he threatened the employee with. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A silver minivan was observed in the area and may have been involved in the incident.
Sergeant James Gomez, Patrolman Nicholas Ferrugiaro, Patrolman Ryan Buck and Special Officer Amanda Farrell responded to the call and participated in the area search for the suspect.
