February 6, 2014Long Branch — A city resident has been accused of endangering the welfare of a child after police say a juvenile was found in his apartment along with marijuana.
According to the Long Branch Police Department, on Feb. 2, officers were contacted by the Little Silver Police Department regarding a missing 17 year old female. She was located at her psychological counselor’s apartment on Ocean Avenue in Long Branch. Officers say they subsequently discovered marijuana at the residence.
The counselor, Micheal Peterson, 35, was arrested and charged with possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, employing a juvenile in a crime, endangering the welfare of a child, failure to turn over CDS to Law Enforcement, and 2nd degree sexual assault.
Bail was set by Judge Perri at $65,000. Peterson was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.
