July 23, 2014Long Branch — On July 2, at the monthly IAMA (Italian American Memorial Association) meeting, a scholarship ceremony took place honoring this year’s recipients and presenting them with scholarships. Five scholarships were presented this year to the following students.
A Sports Scholarship was presented by Marion Smeriglio to Nicholas Menkin, who will be attending Delaware Valley College in the fall.
A Class of 1970 Scholarship was presented by Joseph Lyman for Myeson Pennington, who was unable to attend the ceremony. He will be attending Brookdale College this fall.
A Vincent Beck Memorial Scholarship was presented by Carol Feldman to Antione Felder, who will be attending West Virginia Wesleyan College in the fall.
An Italian Scholarship was offered to Vanessa Smith who could not attend the ceremony. She will be attending Monmouth University in the fall.
A Music Scholarship was presented by James Siciliano to Frank Ramirez, who will be attending St. Peters College.
After the ceremony students, their families and IAMA members and presenters enjoyed a meal together to celebrate their anticipated success.
The IAMA organization wishes best of luck to all students in their future endeavors.
