April 8, 2015Long Branch — Are you spring cleaning? Sorting out mysterious old boxes or clearing an attic or basement? Your old clutter might be the Long Branch Public Library’s historic treasure!
Please consider donating any unwanted Long Branch High School yearbooks and Monmouth County City Directories you may find to the Local History Room at the Long Branch Free Public Library.
A city directory is a listing of residents, streets, businesses, organizations or institutions, giving their location in a city. Antedating telephone directories, they have been in use for centuries, and contain fascinating nuggets of local history not found in today’s phone books. City directories are great primary sources for historic and genealogical research.
The newly renovated Local History Room will be reopening soon. For more information, please call Janice Grace at 732-222-3900, Ext. 228.
