November 4, 2015Long Branch — Barnabas Health Medical Group (BHMG) recently announced the addition of Christopher Eswar, M.D., a gynecologic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery and diagnosing and treating women with chronic pelvic pain. Dr. Eswar is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility.
Dr. Eswar earned his medical degree at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicina in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. He chose to join BHMG and Monmouth Medical Center after his positive experience as Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the hospital where he trained under Robert Graebe, M.D.
During the residency, Dr. Eswar received the Robert J. LaMagra Award which is provided to the resident in OB/GYN who demonstrates the most empathy and compassion for his patients. He completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Dr. Eswar also received the Award for Excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Urogynecologic Society and the Resident Achievement Award by The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American Medical Association.
