December 16, 2015Long Branch — Do you owe fines to the Long Branch Free Public Library? Would you like to clear your account and make a fresh start for the New Year? Food for Fine$ is back.
The Food for Fine$ program is a good way to get outstanding material returned to the library and help a good cause at the same time. You can pay your late fees and support a local food pantry during the holidays.
For every non-perishable food item donated, $1 will be removed from your new and existing fines (excluding lost or damaged items).
Food items suitable for donation are non-perishable, protein-rich food such as peanut butter, granola bars and tuna. Other most needed food items are ready-to-eat canned meals, canned fruits, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, canned and dried soup, canned pork and beans, canned juices, sippy juice boxes and hot and cold cereal.
Residents do not have to owe a fine to participate in the food drive.
All donations will benefit the St. Brigid’s Food Pantry at St. James Episcopal Church. All items must be unopened and unexpired. Please bring your donations to the Circulation Desk so they can be credited to your account.
This program will continue through December 31.
