February 24, 2016Long Branch — The Long Branch Elks Lodge was filled to capacity Friday evening as people from around the state showed up for “Taking Care of Our Own,” a fundraiser for the Czeslaw family.
Two years ago, in February of 2014, Eatontown resident Anthony Czeslaw lost his life to cancer. His wife, Sharryn, died in September.
They left behind six children, four of whom were under 18. Now the oldest brother, Cheyne, and his fianceé Brittney Shields, are trying to take care of his siblings, Justin, 14, Timmy, 13, Kaytlin, 11, and Sarah, 8, along with their five-year-old daughter.
The community has rallied to help the Czeslaws, and Taking Care of Our Own was one of many upcoming events.
The evening featured a buffet dinner, many raffles, auctions and 50/50s, and entertainment by Joe Hand and 3MRock Productions.
