June 7, 2022Eatontown – The Senior Citizens Activities Network (SCAN) is proud to announce the hiring of Ms. Melia Owens as a Benefit Enrollment Specialist.
In this critical role, Ms. Owens will screen program participants to determine their eligibility for multiple benefits including assistance with food, energy, prescriptions and more.
Prior to joining SCAN, Ms. Owens served as an Assistant Program Director for Lunch Break where she was responsible for ensuring that program infrastructures were in place and operating efficiently.
“For me, it is imperative that we provide tools and resources to those in our community, to help them live independently,” said Ms. Owens. “I’ve worked closely with individuals at risk of homelessness, mental or behavioral health concerns, low-income families and those who are food insecure. Developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything I do, both professionally and personally.”
Since 1988, SCAN has been New Jersey’s premier non-profit provider of social education, and health and wellness programs for adults.
