LONG BRANCH – Congressman Pallone (NJ-06) connected with 3,669 constituents during a teletown hall last night, focusing on critical issues impacting New Jersey’s 6th District. The event underscored Pallone’s commitment to open communication and ensuring that his constituents’ concerns shape his legislative work.
“Engaging with my constituents is the most important part of my job,” said Pallone. “Their feedback directly informs my priorities in Congress. I’m grateful to everyone who participated and look forward to continuing this conversation on the issues that matter most to our communities.”
During the hour-long event, Pallone provided updates on key legislative efforts. He began by addressing the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. As Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Pallone recently led a 10-month investigation into the ruling’s impact, revealing serious issues such as reduced OBGYN training and increased health risks for women. He reiterated his commitment to passing the Women’s Health Protection Act to restore reproductive rights nationwide.
On health care costs, Pallone highlighted how the Inflation Reduction Act now allows Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, resulting in substantial savings for over 1.3 million New Jerseyans. He also discussed his ongoing efforts to expand these savings to everyone, including those with private insurance, with his Lowering Drug Costs for American Families Act.
Additionally, Pallone addressed ongoing disruptions with Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor service, emphasizing his push for immediate infrastructure improvements funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and his demand for regular updates from Amtrak leadership to ensure transparency.
Throughout the teletown hall, Pallone engaged directly with constituents, answering questions on a wide range of topics—from housing affordability to Social Security. His thoughtful responses underscored his commitment to staying closely connected with the people he represents.
