Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club Elects 89th Commodore

Phil Arnheiter (Forked River, formerly from Little Silver) was recently elected as the 89th Commodore of Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club.  Located in  Oceanport SSYC was founded in 1936.  Their mission is to promote the support  of sailing and sailboat racing. 

Several of their sailors have launched campaigns to get into the Olympics and one of them did. 

They offer lessons for both children (great activity and skill you can use your whole life) usually starting around age 7 and adults at any age.  Never too old to learn! Keep in mind sailing may even help you get into a college of your choice!
