Eatontown PD make arrest in stabbing

Deshawn Esdaile, 20, of Borden Avenue in Asbury Park, is the man accused of stabbing the Eatontown youth 11 times in the head, neck and back following a dispute at 12:16 in the morning.

Police said that Esdaile and a friend ha…d pulled into the McDonald’s Restaurant on Highway 35 and had a brief argument with a group of teenagers in the parking lot. Esdaile and his friend left the fast food restaurant but returned 20-30 minutes later with two other men and a second vehicle with additional men.

Police say the occupants of the two vehicles then chased the group of teens into Wolcott Park (located behind McDonald’s) and beat and stabbed the one Eatontown youth. Police responded to a disturbance call and found the victim bleeding and his friends caring to his wounds.

The boy who was stabbed was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he underwent surgery. He was released from the hospital five days later.

Esdaile was arrested and sent to the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in lieu of his $20,000 bail. Two other teens suffered minor injuries during the altercation.
