April 28, 2012The Blue Devils girls lacrosse program started the season off with an upset loss
to Red Bank Catholic. But since that loss they have gone undefeated and on
Saturday crushed the Bucs of Red Bank Regional 16-6.
On Sunday, the top 10 girls lacrosse teams were posted and the Blue Devils of Shore Regional were
in the top spot followed by rivals Rumson-Fair Haven, Red Bank Catholic, Toms
River North, Manasquan, Brick Memorial, Freehold Township, Red Bank Regional,
Jackson Memorial and Colts Neck.
In the win over Red Bank Regional, Shore took an 11-3 first half lead. The second half the Blue Devils outscored
the Bucs 5-2 and improved to 5-1 overall and 5-0 in the Shore Conference Class A Central division.
Molly Arnette, a senior attacker, was top scorer for the Blue Devils with six goals. Claudia LaMarca, a senior midfielder, had four goals and two assists. Nicole Britton, a senior who plays both mid and attack, finished with three goals and three assists. Alyson Chwatek, a senior midfielder, scored two goals and had one assists while Chelsey Henderson finished with one goal and three assists.
Shore had a 17-12 shot on goal advantage. In the cage for the Blue Devils was Taylor Caldwell, a junior. She had two saves for the top ranked Blue Devils.
