October 29, 2012The LINK News Monmouth Beach reporter Teja Anderson was present at a deer rescue in Monmouth Beach on Sunday afternoon. A deer somehow ended up in the surf behind the Admiralty Club Condos. Monmouth Beach police, residents of the Admiralty and the Tinton Falls Humane Society combined their efforts in finally pulling the deer to safety.
No one knows how the deer ended up on the beach but he got stuck between the breaking waves and the sea wall.
Animal control tranquilized the young buck which appeared to have a broken leg. He will be nursed back to health and released into the wild.
Eric Walsh of the Humane Society went into the surf to pull the deer out. Photos were taken by Bob McDonough and Teja Anderson. No more need be said. These incredible photos say it all!
