Long Branch – It was a great Father’s Day this Sunday and there was plenty for dads and families to enjoy at the Long Branch Promenade. The boardwalk near Roony’s was lined with almost 500 antique cars for the 19th annual Cruise to the Jersey Shore Car Show.
Thousands showed up to enjoy the stretch of cars as the weather, although threatened, remained beautiful all day.
Sixty trophies are awarded for several different categories from lowest car to most original.
The car show, organized by Special Events Coordinator Barry Stein, was paid for by sponsors and Urban Enterprise Zone funds. Proceeds from the event will go to the Ronald McDonald House.
The next car show will be West End Cruise Night, Aug. 17 on Brighton Avenue and will include music by The Duprees.
