Fire in Long Branch recycling facility

A fire began today, Wednesday, November 6 at the Recycling Facility on Atlantic Avenue in Long Branch. Fire companies from multiple towns showed up to aid the Long Branch Fire Department in keeping the fire from spreading to homes next door.

News helicopters circled above the smoke that billowed from the leaves and branches stored at the facility waiting to be chipped. As of late Wednesday night, Atlantic Ave. was still closed to traffic and the Long Branch Fire Department was still tending the fire.
