Car on fire in a building

Long Branch – Police, fire and first aid squad members responded to 17 North 2nd Avenue shortly after 11:00 this morning on a reported car on fire within the structure.

The building is Brody’s Unlimited Collision and Paint, a body shop located just off Broadway and Belmont Avenue. Unconfirmed reports state that workers were wielding on a vehicle when the cloth they use to protect the car ignited.

At the time of this report we don’t have an estimate of the damage to the building or the vehicles that were inside. We do know that it appeared that no one was injured during the incident. Long Branch Fire Police had Broadway blocked off from 2nd Ave to Liberty Street, and Belmont was also closed from 2nd Ave to Liberty Street.
