Jerome Turner, Sr. was born in Philadelphia, PA in November, l950, to Daniel and Lillian Turner. He departed this life on December 24, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
Jerome served 22 years in the United States Army and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant from Fort Monmouth. He continued to work at Fort Monmouth as a Food Service Contractor at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) until the base closed in 2011. After retiring, Jerome continued to serve the community hosting several food related events that were dear to his heart and his passion for developing a healthy eating lifestyle as well as serving others. Jerome taught culinary courses at Monmouth County Vocational School and held his “Healthy Eating with Chef Jerome”. For the past 15 years, Jerome served Thanksgiving meals for the people of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and later added a Resurrection Feast for Easter.
He was predeceased by both parents, sisters Ruth and Theresa and brothers Daniel and Michael.
He was a faithful member of St. Stephens A.M.E Zion Church of Asbury Park. He was a member of the Seacoast Usher’s Union and may other organizations.

and Dante, Sr.; step-children Anthony, Angela, Richard, and Michael; grandchildren Malika, Tiara, Tariq, Deanna, and Terry II, Charne, Gianni and LaVelle (Jeanna Honore), Jayla, Dante, Jr. and Devin (Jennifer Showell), Jazlynn (Amanda Turner), Dilyn (Aisha Bailey), Janaiah, Janelle, Joselyn, and Lindsey; siblings Diana, Antoinette, Edward, Anthony, and Denise; God-sons Emmanuel Turner and Paul Foster; aunts and uncles; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
