Avery W. Grant receives an award

Long Branch Board of Education member Avery Grant, a director of the New Jersey School Boards Association, was recognized for his service by the Association on Friday, January 24, 2014.

A plaque was presented to Grant that reads, “Presented to Avery W. Grant by the New Jersey School Boards Association in grateful recognition of your devoted service to the educational welfare of the youth of this state.”

Grant has been appointed by the Association to chair a taskforce “to identify and recommend best practices to advance the academic performance of economically challenged students.”
