Great weather for a Columbus Day Parade

October 14, 2015West Long Branch — West Long Branch Recreation Commission is getting ready for its second annual Fall Festival at Franklin Lake on Sunday October 25.
The festival will feature inflatable rides, a DJ, clowns, face painting, balloon making, and refreshments. In addition there will be hayrides around the lake to a pumpkin patch where children can pick a pumpkin, take the hayride back and then decorate their pumpkin.
Shore Regional students from SAW (Students for Animal Welfare) will be set up to feature a pet costume parade, pet adoption, and raffles. Surfrider Club from the school will also be set up displaying environmentally safe options.
“The Fall Festival was a huge success last year,” said Joe DeLeonardo, Chairman of the WLB Recreation Commission. “So this year will be bigger and better with the addition of some items including a ‘Touch-a-Truck’ area where construction, fire, police, EMS vehicles can be explored by the children. We are also adding an additional hayride, a food truck, and an additional inflatable ride.”
Sponsors for the event include JCP&L, Monmouth University, WLB PTA, Joe’s Pizza, PBA Local 141, WLB Education Foundation, WLB Girl Scouts Troops 270 and 1109, Monmouth Building Center, WLB DPW, Police, Firefighters, EMS, and WLB Sports Association.
The Festival begins at 1 at Franklin Lake on Locust Avenue on Sunday October 25.
