Brookdale Public Radio Nominated for Asbury Park Music Awards

LINCROFT — 90.5 The Night, Brookdale Community College’s public radio station, has received five nominations for the 23rd annual Asbury Park Music Awards, scheduled for Dec. 17 at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

90.5 The Night has also been nominated for the “Best Thing to Happen in 2014/15” award, for its 2015 Songwriters on the Beach concert series in Belmar. The free annual showcase, which pairs local musicians with national acts in an intimate seaside setting, is just one of the radio station’s ongoing efforts to promote local music, said station manager Tom Brennan.

“We are extremely passionate about our local music scene and we work hard to support it in any way we can,” said Brennan. “We play great local artists on regular rotation and bring them in to help promote shows at our outstanding local venues. Monmouth County has a fantastic music culture, and we are honored to be considered a part of that.”

The station, which has been broadcasting since 1975, also provides comprehensive local music guides and concert listings through its website, www.90.5thenight.org.
