Jackson Woods BBQ a great hit—next is the tree giveaway on 4/24

By Kathy Buchan – Hello Friends of Jackson Woods. I saw so many of you at the Country Picnic and ribbon cutting ceremony last Saturday. It was a day filled with Country Music featuring the band Squirrel Stew, park tours, tug of war, corn hole toss, Windmill hotdogs and hamburgers, cotton candy, lemonade and camaraderie.

Friends of Jackson Woods’ Kathy Buchan along with Mayor John Pallone and Councilman Mario Vieira celebrate the revitalization of Jackson Woods on Saturday. There was a BBQ, games and a tour of the trails. The band Squirrel Stew was playing in the new gazebo/band shell.

A Day to Remember for Jackson Woods. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. A big thank you goes to our Mayor John Pallone, Stan and Lou and all the guys from Long Branch Public works who go above and beyond for us, Danna Kawut, and Lindsay DeAngelis. This all came together because of you guys. And many thanks to all who supported our efforts in the park by buying a t-shirt. We sold out! What a great feeling, but don’t worry, if you missed out we are ordering more to sell at the tree giveaway on Sunday April 24, 10:00 to 12:00 at Jackson Woods. Stop by, pick up a tree and purchase a t-shirt.

Tuesdays will be our regular workdays at Jackson Woods from 9:00 to 12:00 through spring and into the summer.
Saturdays will be once a month with the exception of April when we will work on April 23 as well as April 30 from 9:00 to 12:00
