On Thursday, May 5 at around 7 p.m. Ocean Township Police, Monmouth County SWAT Team, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Monmouth County Sheriff had a standoff with a subject at the Middlebrook Apt. Complex in Ocean Township.

After about an hour with hundreds of onlookers, some evacuated from their apartments for safety, the suspect came out of the apartment without incident. He was told to lay face down on the ground where he was handcuffed by police, and then led to a police vehicle.
According to an announcement put out by Ocean Township Police, “For anyone who may have seen a large police presence in Middlebrook apartment comples, the incident is complete and the majority of officers have left the area. The incident was resolved peacefully and there is no danger to the public. Thanks for your cooperation if you reside in the area and were affected by the incident.”
It is not known at this time why police were after the man.
