Long Branch held their free rabies clinic at the OEM building on Union Ave. on Saturday. Hundreds of cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds, were brought in to receive their vaccinations administrated by Dr. Caroline Pawlowski and Tori Panick from the Long Branch Animal Hospital
“The weather was cooperating today and a lot of pet owners showed up,” said Michael Kowal, Director of Long Branch Health Dept. “They arrive in spurts, but even though there are a lot of pets here at one time, we’ve had no incidents.” Sometimes one person or family came in with two or three pets. “Everyone kept their distance from each other and got along,” Kowal said.
There were plenty of cute, little cuddly pets and cute, huge cuddly pets, all reacting with anxiety over being out of their element, knowing, as pets do, when they’re in a situation out of their control. But from the moment they walked through the entranceway, everyone treated them as if they were their own pets, putting them at ease, and it was all over before they knew what happened.
Vaccines are good for three years.
