West Long Branch — The West Long Branch Recreation Commission and The West Long Branch Environmental Commission have coordinated the annual Town Wide Garage Sale and a Semi Annual Recycling Event on October 1.
The Town Wide Garage Sale is a permit fee free event that will have many homes in the borough participating and will bring many shoppers into town. Residents still need to apply for a permit at Borough Hall, however the fee will be waived. As residents clean out their garages, attics and basements they can also bring their unwanted and unsellable goods to the recycling event instead of putting them out to the curb.
Members of the Environmental Commission will be at the West Long Branch Community Center from 1-5 p.m. helping with Electronics Recycling (computers, TVs, DVD/VHS players, window air conditioners, cell phones, etc.).
The Lupus Foundation will be there accepting clothing, shoes, house wares, glassware, toys, games, books, DVDs, small furniture, etc.).

The Commission also will be offering secure document shredding.
