Sea Bright — Tri Bar Marine Services of Leonardo joined together with Blue Line Marine Transport of Monmouth Beach to remove 43 boats from Sedge and Gunner Islands west of Sea Bright.
Beginning with a 33-foot Chapperel on November 1, and working many hours through to the present, 43 boats of all shapes, sizes, makes and models were removed from roads, yards, sedges, ponds, porches and the islands few people see located between Rumson and Sea Bright. Contracted by Navesink Marina, Felipe Benedit of Blue Line Marine Transport and Barry Heffernan of Tri Bar Marine Services used their own equipment, rigging and transport expertise to recover boats lost from their places of storage. Along with Little Toot, a NY tug captained by Joe Branin, worked sun up to sun down to bring these boats safely back to the Marina.
Of particular note were the boats without insurance. Navesink Marina of Sea Bright had them retrieved and will be working with owners on a plan for reimbursement. This was especially poignant for the owners of a 35-foot Cruiser that had been in the family for over three generations.
