Matt Cosentino a senior at Shore Regional High School is the proud recipient of Sterns Trailers Athlete of the Week for The Link News.
Cosentino, who will be attending George Washington University on a baseball scholarship, pitched two great games for the Blue Devils last week. The first was a 5-0 win over Pennsville in the NJSIAA Group 1 semifinals where he pitched a complete game allowing 4-hits and getting 7-strikeouts.
In the NJSIAA Group 1 finals Cosentino pitched another complete game allowing 4-hits getting 9-strikeouts and giving up 1 run in the 7-1 victory over Ridgefield to win the first ever NJSIAA Group 1 final in school history. He also had a 2-run homer in the victory.
